Dear Einstein community:
I read a quote this morning by an unknown author that seemed very appropriate for the message I am sharing with you today, “If nothing ever changed, there'd be no butterflies.” While change can be uncomfortable, it often brings unexpected delight. It is within that context that I share some news with you.
As you know, Steve Mezich was selected to fill in for me while I am out on Family Medical Leave this fall. Because of some unexpected administrative staffing needs within the district, Steve has been asked to serve as the acting principal at Smith Elementary next year. While we will miss having Steve work with us at Einstein next fall, the district has found an incredible administrator to serve in his place. Karen Bates, former Superintendant of Lake Washington School District will be joining us as the substitute principal! We are very fortunate to have someone with such high quality experience in the district and with such a positive reputation as a tremendous leader. I have included a greeting from Karen to you in the attachment. I am sure you will be as pleased as I am that she is joining the Einstein Staff.
Enjoy the rest of your summer! I look forward to seeing you in fall!
Melissa Pointer
