Hello Einstein Families! September, 2009
On behalf of the Einstein PTSA, welcome (or welcome back!) to Einstein! We are really looking forward to a great year at Einstein. As you know, our school has experienced some changes in the last few weeks in part due to our AYP "In Improvement" status. We want you to know that our Einstein PTSA is more dedicated than ever to supporting all of our Einstein students and staff and to encouraging all Einstein families to get involved in our school and make a difference! You were given a choice of schools and you chose Einstein, so please turn your commitment to Einstein into action. Here is what you can do to help us (re)build our community:
1. VOLUNTEER! We are asking each Einstein family to pledge two hours of their time this year to Einstein. This small time commitment, multiplied by all of our families, will have an enormous impact on our school. Of course, we welcome any amount of time you can give and have many opportunities depending on your availability and interests. Our programs cannot happen without your help! Contact your child's teacher and our PTSA Volunteer VPs Rana Shafi and Deva Demeter at volunteers@einsteinptsa.org.
2. JOIN! By becoming a PTSA member, you help support all that the PTSA is doing for your child and teacher and you show your child their education matters to you. Your membership gives you a voice and a vote at general membership meetings where key decisions about our school are made. Contact our Membership VP Madhu Movva at membership@einsteinptsa.org.
3. CONTRIBUTE! Donate to our annual Pass the Hat campaign to fund many important programs at our school, including field trips, art enrichment, teacher grants, family events, choir, classic books, assemblies, before and after school activities, chess in 2nd and 3rd grades, and so much more. We have set a goal of $65 per child to fund these programs, but every contribution helps! Please remember corporate matching to help your dollar go even further. Contact our PTSA Fundraising VPs Donna Muench and Penny Miller at fundraising@einsteinptsa.org.
4. OUTREACH! Our PTSA represents all of our students and families. Talk to your friends and neighbors and encourage them to get involved. Help us reach families who have not been involved in the past or who speak a different language. We want to (re)build a diverse community united in our mission to offer the best educational experience for all of our children!
