Registration Instructions
A registration button will be available on September 17, 10:00 AM. Please click on the registration button at that time to start the registration process. This button will be disabled and removed on Friday, September 27, 10:00 PM.

Policies and Procedures
Please be sure to read through all of our Student Activities Policies and Procedures before registering your child.

Refund Policy
Refunds are based on when the cancellation is received. Cancellations requests received:
• On or before Tuesday, October 1, will receive a full refund
• After October 1, will be done at the discretion of the vendor at the vendors rate
• There are no refunds for missed classes. Cancelled classes will only be made up if possible.

Scholarships
The PTSA has a limited need-based scholarships available. One scholarship per student per school year is allowed. To find out how to apply for a scholarship, please email studentactivities@einsteinptsa.org. Applications must be submitted by Friday, September 27, 2019 by 3:30pm. Late applications will not be accepted. Applications will be reviewed in the order that they were received and applicants will be notified through email.

Chaperones
Our PTSA insurance policy states that in order to run our programs, at least one PTSA member, who is approved by the school district to volunteer, must be present in each class. Parents or guardians are asked to fulfill this requirement for a minimum of one class day per session per child. Please note that each parent may be required to chaperone more than one class, depending on enrollment. At the end of the registration process, "SignUp Genius" links will be provided to schedule chaperones for each class. Chaperones must:

- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be or become an Einstein PTSA member for the current school year.
- Be or become LWSD background-check approved(Link opens in new window) 

FREE TUITION Options  

  • Parents who are able to chaperone for all weeks of an activity will receive FREE tuition for one child. To apply, contact studentactivities@einsteinptsa.org
  • Parents who are able to share chaperone duties with one other permanent chaperone, both of them will qualify for 50% DISCOUNTED tuition for one child.( Some restrictions may apply.) To apply, contact studentactivities@einsteinptsa.org

Please note: Chaperone preference will be given to permanent chaperones.  Tuition reductions will be reimbursed at the end of the Student Activities session, upon successful completion of chaperone duties.

*NEW* Comic Books

Have you ever read a comic book and wanted to make your own?  In this class students will use traditional art supplies (pen, pencil, and paper) to make their own comic book.  Students will receive coaching on how to draw specific characters and 3D objects if help is requested and will be supported in finding their own artistic style and voice. Watch the commercial on www.cancancancan.com (4 cans).

TGA Ultimate Frisbee

Discover the Spirit of the Game and how fun and exciting playing Ultimate can be with TGA! In this fast-paced team game that is similar to football, players score points by catching a plastic disc (commonly known as a Frisbee) in the opponent’s end-zone.

Kids derive enormous benefits from yoga. Physically, it improves their flexibility, strength and coordination. Mentally, their concentration and sense of calmness and relaxation improves. By doing yoga and meditation, connect the body more deeply with the inner self and others; and develop an intimate relationship with the natural world that surrounds them. Yoga helps kids in managing stress through breathing, awareness, meditation and healthy movement.

This is the perfect opportunity for your child to learn this life skill in a non-competitive and safe environment.  Srujana Aouk is a RYT Certified Yoga teacher and has been teaching for several years.

Photography offers an excellent range of exciting and valuable learning experiences. This course teaches beginner photographers how to use a camera properly. Students learn basic photography skills and history to take a better photo all while being creative. Children will be excited to learn how to capture memories and moments that will last a lifetime. Students will learn composition basics, including such topics as the rule of thirds, filling the frame, negative space, and limb chops. There will also be an introduction to lighting, including the different types of light and how to best utilize them.

*NEW* 3D Printing

3D printing allows students to be creative and bring their different ideas to life. Highlighting STEAM education, our project-based curriculum, infused with design thinking methodology teaches students how to be creative and solve real life problems. Students will be working in groups and individually using cutting edge 3D modeling software and 3D printing technology to produce, evaluate, and reiterate models and design creations. Start by putting ideas on paper and turning it into a 3D model. Each student will get to take home their individual projects and leave class with a feeling of accomplishment.

“Learning a language is not just learning grammar and vocabulary…It is learning how to function in another culture, how to know a new community from the inside out.”

The Sponge elementary program has 3 goals: (1) Build communication skills; (2) Develop language-learning strategies; and (3) Broaden students’ understanding of the world. We make learning Spanish fun with games, drama, crafts and songs.  All activities are taught in Spanish to optimize learning.

Chess Club

AllAboutChess brings an excellent game of chess with all classes having a focus on sportsmanship and critical thinking.Chess is excellent at teaching kids mental discipline, to focus, to look at all their options, to compete under time pressure, to play fair, that mistakes have consequences, to not give up when behind, and many more life lessons. Classes are tailored to the level of competency exhibited among the students.

Creative Dance/Hip Hop

Dance uplifts, unites, and empowers children. It also provides children with an  opportunity to express their individuality while working on gross motor skills and developing cognitive and social skills.

Karate is a total learning activity. Lessons are tailored to your child’s age and skill level. Your child begins by practicing basic patterns and forms, board breaking, kicking, blocking, striking, and punching. These fundamental skills increase your child’s physical coordination, flexibility, balance, and mental acumen. Karate develops your child’s athletic abilities and self-awareness and improves the child’s capabilities in self-defense.

Art Class

In this session, we will explore the world under the water: We will draw and paint sea animals such as seals, sea lions, turtles, octopi, whales, star fish and more. We will use pencils, soft pastels, oil pastels, watercolor, acrylic on canvas, and clay for sculpture. We will combine techniques of space, light, shadow and perspective. We will combine techniques of space composition light and shadow, one-point perspective, tow-point perspective and creating depth and 3D. We will use pencils, charcoals, soft pastels, oil pastels, watercolor, acrylic, clay and foils.
