Lunch Buddies - Volunteers come to the school and have lunch once a week with a child in need of an adult role model. |
Art Docent Program - Monthly art lessons presented by parent volunteers in the classroom. Do you know about our unique art program and how it differs from the art lessons your child receives from their teacher? Deep Space Sparkle is the art instruction program in our classrooms that gives teachers a creative way to add to lessons being worked on in other areas of instruction. However, Einstein is a leading school in the LWSD Art Docent program and helped create the program as a whole! This program is coordinated by the district and funded by our PTSA. Following state art education guidelines, this program follows a global art history theme and gives our children an opportunity to use materials not limited by Deep Space Sparkle. As a docent volunteer you need NO artistic experience to help in your child’s class! You’ll be taught how to run the class- lessons and materials are provided! Still sound scary? You can still help! Can you sharpen pencils, pass out paper or encourage students? THEN WE NEED YOU! Visual arts can increase students’ ability to think creatively and critically, which can improve their performance across all other academic areas. Help us keep visual arts in Einstein! |
