                                 Dear Einstein Otter community!!!

We are excited to announce that our school will be hosting our 6th Annual Fun Run event on May 10th. This is a great opportunity to come together as a community and support our students in a fun and healthy way! 

You can do your part by volunteering on the day of the Fun Run. In past years, it took 60+ awesome volunteers to make it all happen. This is our largest fundraiser and event of the year and together, we can make this event a smashing success and help the students have a great day! 

Einstein has been growing and we will be splitting the event for K-2 and 3-5, and we also need help setting up beforehand and cleaning up afterwards.  Please consider signing up for more than one time slot.

LWSD Volunteer Approval Process 

PLEASE go to this link (if you have not done so already) to apply for you volunteer background check. It is quick, easy, and good for two years. Please note that you will not be able to volunteer at school until it has been approved. If you are unsure of your LWSD volunteer status, you can log into the Raptor Volunteer Portal to verify.  If you have any questions, please reach out to: volunteers@einsteinptsa.org 

Here are the roles we are looking to fill: 

Setup: Close the parking lot.  Set up cones and flags along the course.  Set up tables, trash cans, grade flags and equipment.  

Lap Marker (k-2): Mark completed laps on the students' T-shirts during the race. Help with the RESET. 

Lap Marker (3-5): Mark completed laps on the students' T-shirts during the race. Help with the CLEANUP.  

Course Patrol: Stand at designated spots around the course to keep runners safe and encourage them during the race.  After the race, you may be asked to stand near a lineup while they are enjoying their Otterpop.  Optional: bring a bell, wear a fun costume or bring a sign to keep them motivated. 

Water tables: We will have 3 water tables to make sure the kids get hydrated. Please help set up tables, cups and water, make sure the kids put the cups in the compost trash cans.   

Photography: You'll be in an assigned location taking pictures for the Yearbook, Ottermail, website and more. Please send the photos to Yearbookchairs@einsteinptsa.org 

Entertainment: Help set up tables, and speakers. Note that you’ll need to use your own phone and connect it to the speakers. 

Otterpops: Help set up Otterpops tables and hand out Otterpops after the race. You’ll need to mark t-shirts after students receive their Otterpop. Make sure they put the Otterpop package in the trash can once they're done. 

Tally Classroom laps: Visit a classroom after the race to tally the number of runners and total laps. 

Clean Up Crew: People marking laps (3rd-5th grade) will be in charge of the cleanup. But we encourage all the volunteers to help, the more people, the better and the faster. Please pick up cones, open parking lot.  Return class flags, and trash cans to the school.  Help put away equipment.  Our custodial staff does so much for the school, and we want to show our appreciation by not adding to their normal workload.
